I now understand what a beach read is.
A light and frothy read that was a breeze to get through.
I guess I’ve been lying to myself. I do enjoy thrillers, I just hadn’t found the right vein yet. I need them to be lighter. The dark and series ones can’t live up to my expectations. The key is that I can’t have any expectations.
I did guess the ending, but not some of the smaller twists. I wasn’t here for the twists, though. I was fine hanging out with the characters and setting.
The relationships were well developed.
Loved the extended ending.
I’m a sucker for movie sets, and this one delivered.
Great writing. Elevated. Great analogies. Just enough description to paint a great scene.
I had way too much fun reading this book
I would definitely read another thriller by Stratton.
Morally grey characters — greatly appreciated.
Somehow, I loved and hated the FMC.
I can’t say that I could have done it better except that I’m not a thriller girly.
Rating my emotions is hard. The book wasn’t emotional for me, but it was extremely enjoyable. I’m going to say that emotions mean my overall feelings about reading the book.
The setting rating is due solely to the story being partly set on a movie set.
I can’t compare In Deadly Company to other thrillers, but in comparison to The Midnight Feast, I think it’s better from a character and writing perspective. The twists were better in The Midnight Feast.
Strong Knives Out vibes.
Happy Reading
Love,
